Description

An organically grown, naturally pulped and dried bean, cultivated by Gabriel and Flavia Lancha Oliveira on the Fazenda Bom Jesus Farm in the Alta Mogiana Region of Brazil. This farm was the first to be certified by UTZ back in 2006, is a member of the Brazilian Speciality Coffee Association and is also part of the Rainforest Alliance since 2008. The farm owns 140 hectares of natural reserve and is carefully managed to promote the biodiversity of native flora and fauna. The coffee grown here is of the Yellow Catuai variety, which lends this bean a natural sweetness, which is compounded by the drying method; all the beans are dried together and the husk is only removed after the coffee reaches a low humidity.

We connect with this amazing Brazilian coffee farm through Calum of “Cal’s Coffee”, who directly connects us to these great coffee farms around the world.

These beans are roasted in-house to produce a coffee with a sweet honey body and notes of chestnut and grape wine.

Similarly to all our coffee here at Duffin’s, it is a Direct and Fair Trade product; we buy it at well above the World Trade and Seasonally Agreed price to ensure that the produces get a guaranteed annual income, regardless of price fluctuations.
