The coffee farm is located in the Junin region, in the amazon rainforest of Peru. The high elevation provides perfect conditions such as lush vegetation for the heirloom coffee, typica, bourbon and caturra (types of coffee) to grow.
Satipo is a co-operative that was set up to manage the community and ongoing coffee projects in the region.
cooperatives were formed to support the poor resources and combat obstacles of limited infrastructure, remoteness and the small size of the farms. The importers work closely with communities offering support pre-harvest, building positive impact and harmonious supply chains that are both ethical and environmentally friendly. Since 2010 Peru has become one of the top producers of arabica coffee and is building a reputation for itself.
The farmers have achieved a balanced acidity, smooth milk chocolate cup with caramel and nutty flavours.
