Description

“This coffee is mainly a mix of Cavery and Catuai varieties grown on our farm” which is crowned by a dense silver oak canopy referenced in the name ‘Ratnagiri’ the Hindi word translating to ‘Pearl Mountain’. Established in 1920 this farm passed through the generations Grandfather to Father to Son, Ashok Patre.

Grown at altitudes of 1300m – 1450m “This coffee is depulped and let to ferment aerobically for 36 hours before being washed and then soaked in clean water for 16 hours. The coffee was then dried on patios for 12 days” Ashok describes.

These beans are then roasted in-house to produce a delicious coffee that has a sweet and nutty mouth-feel, carrying notes of Citrus, Apple, Chocolate and Walnut..

Like all our coffee at Duffin’s, it is a Direct and Fair Trade product; we buy it at well above the World Trade and Seasonally Agreed price to ensure that the produces get a guaranteed annual income, regardless of price fluctuations.
